Data Acquisition systems and SCADA Control for LED Production Display and Monitoring Systems
The LED Studio have recently used a SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) package to carry out production line monitoring and reporting as well as the control of a production line LED display board. The choice of SCADA package was VEE Pro from Agilent and this was used to implement the monitoring and control system along with in house purpose designed electronics to carry out the data acquisition element of the application.

The LED Studio is proud to become a distributor for the new Trackstar rail application
Scadatec's TrackStar is a rail application specific version of Scadatec's established Procyon software. TrackStar is intended for level crossing and interlocking event recording and analysis and provides local on-site access to recorded data as well as remote operations by multiple users. Features include:
- Communicates with Solartron IMPs, CDSRail Atlas and ACIC Alpha - TrackStar can also communicate via industry standard Modbus and OPC protocols to other data acquisition hardware
- Live data viewer with real-time acquisition, graphical display and logging
- Logging to multiple drives
- Web server for live data viewing via standard web browsers
- Event browser with graphical event replay for viewing recorded digital event data
- SMS texting from/to monitoring sites via GSM modem allowing remote alarm/event/status monitoring using a normal mobile phone

The LED Studio is able to offer a direct plug in replacement for the IMP Data Acquisition system
The Solartron distributed data acquisition network consisted of a number of distributed front-end measurement devices called Isolated Measurement Pods (IMPs) and a proprietary local area network called S-Net. All IMPs possess an on-board microcomputer for data conversion, validation, timing and local data buffering. The S-Net is a twisted pair cable that can connect up to fifty multi-channel IMPs and is capable of processing up 1,000 channels per second. The distributed network itself could extend over a distance of one mile. As well as handling communications and data, the S-Net also supplied power to the IMPs.
